Been eying a ShotKam for a few years now, finally made my move during the Labor Day sale. So far, so good. The Mini captures great video, the battery lasts plenty long and its easy to use, even for an old guy like me.
I am very satisfied with the camera, easy to use, simple menu, everything can be set perfectly via the app, which runs great. I already had the Gen 3 and have now switched to the Gen 4.
I use the camera exclusively for hunting, both for stand hunting and driven hunts. Some really great recordings have come out of it.
A small point of criticism from my side:
Since I am often on driven hunts and things happen quickly, I find the Constant Record function on the Gen 4 very helpful. However, what’s a bit unfortunate is that in this mode the camera only lasts about 2 hours, while most driven hunts last almost 4 hours. A larger battery would be great, although I do understand that would probably increase the weight and size of the camera.
What I would really like is a cable switch!
A cable switch with the end cap for the ShotKam: unscrew the standard end cap, **** on the new one with cable switch, attach the cable switch to the fore-end, and done.
Still, 5 stars because the camera itself is very good and delivers great recordings.
I am volunteer coach for the local school's trap team and the ShotKam has been tremendously helpful in showing the students the mistakes they are making. It is one thing to explain it to a new shooter but something else entirely to be able to show them exactly why and where the mistakes are happening.

The experience of the online purchase and transaction went very well, no complaints. Haven't received my ShotKam yet, but if the purchasing process is any indication, I expect smooth sailing.
