I've been looking for a camera to capture my duck hunts. I looked at a few options but went with the ShotKam, even though it cost the most. So glad I did. It's been exactly what I was hoping for. The videos come out crystal clear and it's easy to use.
This new Gen 4 Mini is awesome. You cannot appreciate how much smaller and lighter it is until you get it on your gun. I upgraded from the Gen 3 and it is a night and day difference.
This looks like it will be great to record my hunting excursions. Can’t wait to hit the field.
If you want to clean up your bad shotgunning habits, this is a great tool that'll save you a ton of time, and thousands of dollars. Want to work on long shot crossers in sporting clays, but can't figure out how come you're missing, check your shots, and contrast your solid hit against all your missed shots, and you'll see what happened. You can save the data to your laptop from your phone,if you like. It helps my students become aware of their random gun movements that rob their consistency on the course. You can see quite a few shooting errors from the videos e.g. swing stopping at the shot, poor follow-through, indecision, gun- mounting problems etc. Combine it with a good coach, and you'll likely advance quickly from plateau to the next level or two, depending on your willingness to practice consistently.
It's a lot of fun, and very humbling to see all the errors that add up to shot inconsistency. Heck, I used it to record my dove hunts, and could see some inconsistency in follow through that was robbing me on doubles. So much fun, and you will get addicted to using it. You'll love it,but DON'T lend it out or you might not see it back for a while, trust me. Make them buy their own Gen 4!!!
I've used the ShotKam a few times now and it’s really helped me analyze my movements. It’s easy to mount and the videos are high-quality. I was a little hesitant about the price at first, but after using it, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. You can see exactly where your shots go and the app frame-by-frame playback is good. The online support and training videos were great
